Among various capabilities of AI solutions, video generation became very popular across organizations at all levels. For the last decade, videos became the most important medium for organizations to promote their products or services, make announcements, or communicate better with their customers. Similar to other AI solutions, AI-powered video generation platforms made this field accessible to all sizes of businesses, from SMBs to large enterprises. With the power of AI, many organizations started creating videos within minutes, instead of using old-fashioned slide shows.
Until recently, organizations were spending a considerable amount of money on creating videos. In traditional video creation, hiring an entire camera crew, a PC with high-end hardware, together with a studio, and a presenter or an actor was the bare minimum. Prior to AI-powered video generators, online video-making platforms made it possible for organizations to create videos with a basic PC. However, their capabilities were limited and didn’t meet most customers’ demands. In the early 2020s, AI is involved in the video generation field and allowed users to create using avatars instead of real human actors to create realistic-looking videos.
What is Synthesia?
Synthesia is one of the most popular AI video creation platforms on the internet, which enables users to create videos in 120 languages. The platform enables organizations to create their own videos instead of using documents, PowerPoints, or PDFs to increase engagement with their audience. Users can create training, how-to, or marketing videos easily with the templates and avatars provided, without any knowledge of video editing.
One of the most innovative features of the service is AI avatars that look realistic. These avatars are digital twins of real actors and can read the text users have written. Synthesia provides more than 100 diverse AI avatars and enables users to create their own custom AI avatars and get an exclusive AI avatar for the brand. Synthesia’s avatars are capable of speaking in over 120 languages and accents with closed captions if needed.
Synthesia also eliminates the need for technical knowledge for video editing. Its intuitive interface comes with many features any user may need with more than 60 customizable video templates. It also offers a built-in screen recorder and a media library. When the editing process is finished, users can easily share, embed, or download the video as MP4.
What are the features of Synthesia?
As an online video generation platform, Synthesia offers multiple tools, such as templates, a screen recorder, and a media library, that are designed for users who have no experience in video editing. Especially, the screen recorder feature makes it easier for anyone who creates training or how-to videos. These tools enable anyone to create professional-looking videos easily. For consistency in video quality, Synthesia also offers to upload brand identity assets and get a custom-made template that can be associated with your brand. To make the editing process easier, Synthesia also makes it possible to duplicate the video with a click for anyone who wants to make changes without affecting the original one.
Of course, the most attention-grabbing feature of Synthesia is AI Avatars. Users can choose from more than 100 AI avatars covering different ethnicities, ages, and styles to include in their videos. Synthesia’s text-to-video capabilities enable that avatar to read the text you have provided. Users can also get an exclusive AI avatar for their brand or create a custom AI avatar of themselves. With the power of AI, the avatar looks realistic while reading the text provided.
The platform currently supports more than 120 languages.
What are the benefits of Synthesia?
The most important and obvious benefit of Synthesia is that it makes it possible to create professional-looking videos for anyone easily and quickly. Traditional video creation is a time-consuming and expensive process with a requirement for a whole team. Synthesia eliminates most of the requirements, enabling users to create their own videos much more effectively. Since it is a web-based platform, anyone can create or edit videos on Synthesia, regardless of the computing power of their devices.
Its intuitive interface also simplifies the editing process and requires no prior editing experience. Which makes it possible for everyone in a team to get involved in the editing process. Also, in traditional video creation, making changes is also a very time-consuming process and it can even require rerecording a sequence. With Synthesia’s platform, the changes can be made within minutes easily.
Is Synthesia free?
Synthesia is a subscription-based paid service and there are no free plans currently.
The Personal plan costs $30 per month and it includes 10 video credits. In Synthesia, 1 credit equals 1 minute of video, thus this plan only allows users to create 10 minutes of video per month. The plan includes most of the features we mentioned before and as a paid add-on, users can create custom avatars.
The Corporate plan doesn’t have a specified price because it depends on the customer’s needs. It includes all personal plan features. Additionally, it comes with premium built-in avatars, exclusive custom avatars, premium Shutterstock assets, branded templates, priority support, audio uploads, SAML SSO support, branded video share page, enterprise-grade security, and custom fonts.
