Founded in Kaunas, Lithuania in 2004, the firm was originally named Hosting Media. In 2007, its subsidiary 000Webhost was established. Hosting24, another subsidiary, was launched in 2008 in the United States, with data centers in Asheville, North Carolina, and in the United Kingdom. In 2014 the subsidiary WebLink is launched in Brazil. In 2021, a group of investors led by the German entrepreneurs Jochen Berger and Thomas Strohe invested in Hostinger. They have acquired 31% of Hostinger’s shares from long-time employees and have become members of the company’s board.
