Core Scientific announces that it opened a new massive blockchain complex in Kentucky.
Core Scientific, which focuses mainly on blockchain infrastructure and artificial intelligence unveiled its new blockchain complex in Calvert City, Kentucky. The company gave life to an old steel mill establishment that was in action until 2016. The facility with purpose-designed buildings that are thermodynamically engineered for high efficiency and temperature management, has already deployed more than 30MW of customer blockchain servers, with 125MW total power ready-now.
High-density data center
The new Calvert City complex is a very high-density data canter that boosts the footprint of the company more than 250 MW across all five data centers. Other 400 MW are under LOI. The new facility is strategically located for energy pricing, geopolitical and regulatory stability, and extreme weather mitigation. The site is 49% non-emitting power generation.
Kevin Turner, CEO of Core Scientific said:
“We are investing in the infrastructure and software solutions that help our customers maximize the performance of their servers. Our goal is to provide the optimized environment for the latest generation of blockchain servers, and create capacity for global customers to securely host in the stable US market.”
