The Newcastle-based company Atlas Cloud announced the further strengthening of its board of directors and senior management team. The company has appointed Mick Thompson as non-executive director and Paul Butterworth as head of sales.
Cloud services are more important now than ever
Thompson is renowned in the North East for his career at KPMG. He worked as senior partner for 22 years, managing Newcastle and the surrounding areas. Thompson spans various non-executive roles across the region, including the Newcastle Building Society, Clinkards Group, Greggs Foundation Charity and NUFC Foundation.
Mick Thompson talked about his new role, saying,
“I’m delighted to come on board with Atlas Cloud at what is a very poignant time in the company’s 10-year history. I was first drawn to the company’s ambitions of growing its North East roots and a wide range of business portfolios. Cloud services are more important now than ever and we have a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the future success of the company, its people and the business it supports,”
After holding senior sales and development positions for 25 years, Paul Butterworth joined Atlas Cloud as head of sales. He will play a fundamental role in strengthening its position as a Microsoft partner, using his experience to establish the company as a leading provider of Microsoft Azure-based Windows Virtual Desktop solutions.
Atlas Cloud’s new head of sales Paul Butterworth said,
“Atlas Cloud has a strong ambition to not only grow but deliver Azure-based technical services and expertise that help customers seize opportunities to create hybrid workplaces, improve productivity and drive success. Joining the company has come at a very exciting time and I look forward to drawing on my industry experience, to build valuable customer and partner relationships and support the vision for growth and development.”
