Zoho Corp, which developed cloud-based business applications globally for 22 years, has announced Zoho Catalyst, the company’s new-generation cloud Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). The key feature of Zoho Catalyst is that it has a serverless option. It means to allow developers to create and run microservices and applications for their custom solutions with a serverless option.
No require for admins
“Catalyst is designed to offer developers increased efficiency, thanks to Zoho’s unified technology stack as well as our experience building business productivity tools during the past two decades. Developers can now access the same underlying services and frameworks that power Zoho’s 45+ applications used by more than 45 million users around the world,” Zoho Chief Evangelist Raju Vegesnatold said.
According to Vegesnatold, as for serverless functions, Zoho’s Catalyst runs code without requiring admins to provision or manage servers. Automation is the name of the game. Zoho Catalyst, a complete serverless suite, provides to build your Node.js and Java functions on a serverless. Moreover, it allows using its relational datastore as a serverless database for your server-side and client deployments.
Zoho Catalyst sandbox environment
In addition to these features, it has a simple design allowing us to create functions, work on projects, and easily deploy to production from within the comforts of your CLI or any IDE of user choice. On the security side, with its secure deployment pipeline, you can deploy your work with confidence after securely testing them in Zoho Catalyst’s sandbox environment.
Also, it comes with a wide collection of user cases like microservice orchestration, serverless applications, event-driven actions, mobile app development, CI/CD pipelines, AI solutions, and more.
What is serverless computing?
Serverless computing, a kind of cloud computing execution model, has been talked about for the last 9 years in the IT sector. With this technology, developers can create new products for enterprises, developers, and IT product makers. Serverless computing is also known as Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) meaning the server is used for heavy lifting, but the user doesn’t need to see or carry the server where in the world it’s located.
Probably, because the meaning of serverless is somewhat confusing, entry of serverless computing to the product market is late.
