European cloud hosting company, UpCloud announced the launch of Object Storage. According to the announcement, Object Storage can be used for private data storage. The new solution is securely attached to the cloud servers via private networks, or made public and used for delivering files on the Internet. UpCloud offers three plans with data capacities of 250 GB, 500 GB, and 1 TB.

UpCloud Object Storage plans include a set amount of transfer quota per month. However, users can deploy Object Storage as many of them to suit their needs. Additionally, smaller instances can be scaled up easily by adding more storage. Object Storage instances and Cloud Servers will be able to share quotas without any extra fee with the upcoming launch of the company’s Network Transfer Pool. Juha-Pekka Järvenpää, Head of Product, UpCloud, said,
“Object Storage provides a delivery platform for static content separate from Cloud Servers, as well as a place to store archival data such as backups. This enables our customers to focus on building their applications instead of maintaining servers.”
