Ark Data Centres has acquired Renault Retail Group’s West London site on Western Avenue, Park Royal, in order to build a state-of-the-art energy-efficient data centre powered by renewable electricity.
Two facilities will be active in 2022
The building is the existing 92,000 square foot showroom which has been the retail home, Head Office and workshop of Renault since the 1930s. The purchase of Park Royal came after the recent announcement of Ark’s new leading London facility in Union Park, Hayes. This facility will also use on-site solar for some of its power needs, and gas generators as an alternative to diesel. both facilities are expected to open in early 2022.
Huw Owen, CEO of Ark Data Centres, talked about the acquisition, saying,

This new exciting acquisition of Park Royal, our third in London, not only supports Ark’s own sustainability commitments but also empowers the customers we serve by helping them to honour their own carbon reduction goals”.
