Storage and information management services company, Iron Mountain Incorporated announced that internet exchange operator, DE-CIX deployed a new switch at its NJE-1 data center. It expands the duo’s network ecosystem and geographical reach in the New York region. With the new switch, NJE-1 customers will be able to directly access DE-CIX’s IX platform, which enables connectivity to local peering and cloud services in metropolitan markets.
GlobePEER remote service
The duo also stated that the new switch will allow customers to connect to any of DE-CIX’s global IX locations through its GlobePEER remote service. It allows customers to benefit from having low-latency and low-cost Layer 2 network connectivity options to reach numerous content, cloud, and internet service providers. Ed d’Agostino, General Manager, DE-CIX North America, said,
