FPT Telecom started to work on a new facility in Vietnam

FPT Telecom has started a big data center project in Saigon Hi-Tech Park, District 9, HCMC. It will be the first data center in Vietnam to have the LEED certification.

Vietnamese-based FPT Telecom Data Center launched the construction of a new data center in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 9. FPT Telecom Data Center, covering an area of 10,000 square meters, is expected to open in the first quarter next year. This new facility will differ from other facilities in Vietnam with its LEED certification and Uptime Tier III standards. Uptime Tier III certification is a prestigious evaluation system in the world for design, construction, operation, management, and stability of Data Center services range from low to high levels.

For meet the demand of Vietnamese organizations

With using the latest Diesel Rotary Uninterruptible Power Supply (DRUPS) technology that is being applied at data centers around the world, the facility contributes to environmental protection.

Hoang Nam Tien, Chairman of FPT Telecom, talked about the new facility, saying,

“Digital transformation has been occurring not only in Vietnam but also around the world. The need to bring systems and applications onto the cloud is rising. Therefore, we need to have big data centers with high standards, ensuring system and data security as well as being able to compete with “big companies” such as Microsoft, Google and Amazon.”

Investment in cloud

Like other organizations in the world, many Vietnamese organizations and businesses are moving their databases to the cloud. In addition to Internet infrastructure investment, FPT Telecom has invested in and launched many Cloud services. With this new data center, the company aims to optimize the support to organizations and businesses during the transition process of infrastructure, applications, management, information security.
