Green Datacenter announced its new facility, the Zurich Metro Campus project. The facility will comprise three high-density data centers, a business park, and integrated green zones. The company is investing approximately $560 million for the 46,000 square meters project, which is currently located in Dielsdorf. Construction for the project will begin in the first quarter of 2021 and the first data center of the project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.

The company also stated that they have developed their data center design to ensure higher performance and more efficient power supply and cooling. The new design allows the data center to achieve better PUE values, even at an extremely high power density of more than 25 kilowatts per rack.
The municipality of Dielsdorf will also profit from the innovations, the campus concept incorporates a connection to a district heating/cooling system that can be used by every building in the region. The project also includes three office buildings, commercial areas, and green zones, as well as direct access to public transport, which can be reached from Zurich in 15 to 20 minutes. The company also stated that the first anchor customers for the data centers are already on board.
