Hitachi Vantara offers high performance and low latency

Data centers not only provide servers to run applications and web sites, but they also hold an immense amount of data in different clusters of virtualized environments across many different types of physical devices. At most times, manageability is prioritized overcapacity and speed since it is more important to retain data before even you begin serving it.

High scalability

The new solution includes the Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform 5000 series with Hitachi Ops Center management software along with Hitachi Storage Virtualisation Operating System. Virtual Storage Platform 5000 series is claimed to be one of the fastest among comparable systems.

Hitachi VSP 5000 series provides a highly scalable base to build for all kinds of storage systems in the demanding world of datacentres and provide a future-proof core to begin building such a system. On scaling and upgrade front Hitachi also offers fully-fledged, ready to go solutions. VSP 5000 series are designed resilience in mind, utilizing flash storage to provide lightning-fast data access with NVMe drives and storage-class memory units.

Machine learning

Powered by Hitachi Accelerator Fabric, this fast enterprise flash array provides a performance level of up to 21 million IOPS. Customers are however not barred from using other types of flash media with different interfaces. NVMe flash storage devices can be mixed with SAS flash media to provide a more balanced approach regarding speed and capacity, a hard choice that does not have to be made by VSP 5000 users.

For speed and reliability, Hitachi incorporates machine learning algorithms in this storage solution for optimization which analyzes data specific to physical capabilities and features of an array and does on the fly deduping of processes.
