UpCloud announced that the newest addition to its European data centers is located in Madrid, Spain. It is the company’s first data center in Southern Europe and is named as ES-MAD1. The company also stated that the data center is currently available. The company’s new facility is running on the AMD EPYC processor architecture. The company also stated that it is deploying EPYC hardware to its other data centers to run alongside the existing Intel Xeon hosts.
More European openings
The company also stated that opening new data centers is a part of its global growth plan. This plan is fueled by an €18 million investment raised in 2020. The company is expecting to open 3 brand new sites in Europe and 6 more around the world by the end of 2021. The company also stated that the net Interxion MAD3 facility only uses renewable energy and it is certified by the Spanish National Market and Competition Commission.
