Europe is one of UpCloud’s most significant markets. After Helsinki, London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Madrid, UpCloud opens a data center in Warsaw. The PL-WAW1 in Warsaw is the seventh data center of UpCloud in Europe.
It will be powered by wind
The PL-WAW1 is situated in brand new and modern facilities of Equinix WA3 data center opened in March 2020, according to the announcement. It features the same reliability and resilience.

UpCloud’s founder and CTO Joel Pihlajamaa, said,
“We wanted to open an availability zone specifically in Warsaw since we have seen so many incredible companies coming from there. We’d like to support them even more by bringing the new data center closer.”
The entire data center platform will be supplied with 100% renewable energy from the wind. The Warsaw data center is running fully on the AMD EPYC processor architecture that increases performance on virtually all workloads.
