Hyperscale data center campus provider, Vantage Data Centers launched its first 15 MW data center in Germany with partners Energieversorgung Offenbach and DataCenter-Group. Vantage’s new Frankfurt campus was a part of the company’s Etix Everywhere in February 2020. When fully developed, the facility will provide 55 MW of critical IT capacity. 60,000 square meters campus is located in Offenbach.

Vantage also stated that the campus prioritizes reliability along with sustainability and environmental responsibility. Hyper-efficient cooling with outside air economization using minimal water will be used in the building. The company opened the campus with a small celebration with customers and local dignitaries. Tarek Al-Wazir, Hessian Minister for Economics, Energy, Transport and Housing, Felix Schwenke, Mayor of the City of Offenbach, and Georg Müller, CEO of MVV Energie AG joined the ceremony as speakers. Antoine Boniface, President, Vantage Europe, said,
“The development of this campus in one of the most sought-after markets in Europe is the first milestone in our $2 billion European expansion strategy. Many of our customers need to be in Europe for a variety of reasons, whether it’s to reduce latency or to comply with local privacy laws. Offenbach is an ideal location, located within one kilometer of the main peering points and just 15 minutes from Frankfurt’s international airport.”
