Data center storage refers to all the tools, technologies, devices, and processes to design, implement, manage and monitor storage infrastructure and resources within a data center.
Storage infrastructure and resources within a data center consist of hard disk drives, tape drives and all forms of internal and external storage, storage and backup management software utilities, external storage facilities like cloud storage and networking technologies such as storage area networks (SAN), network-attached storage (NAS), RAID and more. In addition to this, data center storage covers data center storage policy and procedures that manage the entire process of data storage and retrieval.
