Huawei to launch its flagship DCI Product for Singapore’s enterprise market

Huawei organized the Singapore OptiX Club, an online technology webinar. This webinar themed “OptiX, lighting up your mind”, brought Huawei, its business leaders, and technical elites together to talk about the role of fiber optical networks in digital transformation and technological innovation across all industries. At the event, Huawei also introduced a new product for data center interconnect networks (DCI), Huawei OptiXtrans DC908, to Singapore’s enterprise market.

For ultra-large bandwidth

While big data, cloud computing, and mobile Internet have given rise to massive traffic generated between data centers, high-performance data center interconnect (DCI) solutions has surged. Huawei OptiXtrans DC908 has an ultra large capacity of 800 Gbit/s per wavelength supporting flexible configuration between 100G and 800G, and future-proof Super C+L technology to achieve 220 wavelengths. This product enables customers to manage easily today’s massive data flow.

“We have seen a surge of over 50 percent online traffic under the current climate. It’s critical for enterprises to strengthen their data center infrastructure to provide consistent digital experience for their customers with reliable network connectivity. Today we are here to introduce Huawei’s latest Intelligent OptiX Network strategy and our star DCI product, the OptiXtrans DC908, that will help enterprises meet the growing demands of network capacity expansion with an all-optical network foundation.”

Huawei OptiXtrans DC908 has an ultra large capacity of 800 Gbit/s per wavelength supporting flexible configuration between 100G and 800G, and future-proof Super C+L technology to achieve 220 wavelengths. This product enables customers to easily manage today’s massive data flow. The OptiXtrans DC908 features simplified deployment in just eight minutes, ultra-broadband and high integration, and intelligent, AI-ready, proactive operations and maintenance (O&M).

Highlights from OptiXtrans DC908

  • Ultra-broadband
− Smooth upgrade to 88 Tbit/s per fiber: The single-fiber capacity is improved to support smooth upgrade to the C+L band in the future.
    − 100G to 800G programmable
    High integration
− Optical-electrical integration: Optical-layer and electrical-layer boards are deployed in the same subrack, halving the required space. These boards suit IT and CT equipment rooms and can be deployed with IT equipment in the same cabinet.
− Programmable Muxponder boards: The maximum capacity per slot is 1.6 Tbit/s, and the maximum capacity per chassis is 6.4 Tbit/[email protected]
  • Simplified fiber connections
  • 5A deployment
  • Intelligence O&M
  • High security: The high-security AES256 algorithm is used to encrypt services at the L1 layer.
  • High reliability: Various multi-layer network-level and equipment-level protection schemes are provided. The protection switching latency is less than 50 ms, guaranteeing superior protection performance.
