Hosting community’s adaptation to cPanel’s changed pricing structure

With the change of cPanel’s pricing and licensing structure, hosting firms and direct customers have been affording to adapt this new structure.

Web hosting control panel software, cPanel announced its news licensing and pricing structure in July after several months of conversations. This new pricing system based on usage means to pass from unlimited usage to a usage-based pricing system. Users can be billed based on usage, instead of being able to create unlimited cPanel accounts. In addition to this, additional fees for cPanel licenses will vary based on usage. The price of every license based on the total number of accounts that are hosted on the server increased.

Hosting community needs more support for adaptation

In the days following cPanel’s announcement, the company has realized that they miss on their part to some of their communities need more support to implement these licensing model changes. To be clearer they shared some details about implementation for their partners and direct customers. For example, for partners, cPanel add a new 50 account plus package available and provide fixed cPanel Premier Packages starting with 100 account licenses.

With this change, most web hosting firms released adaptation details for their customers. One of these Fastcomet announced that cPanel will nonetheless be included for free with all the shared hosting plans we provide. All our Cloud VPS and Dedicated server plans will be running on a fully licensed cPanel version. If you will be a new customer for a new Cloud VPS plan, the base price of the VPS will include up to 5 cPanel accounts. On a dedicated server, the base price will also include up to 5 cPanel accounts.

License costs will be added to the bill

Inmotion Hosting declared that the license costs will be added as a separate bill item appearing monthly. Managed hosting users’ base price will increase by $5/month. It is needed to note that after 250 accounts, each additional 50 accounts will add $10 to the license price, up to 2000 accounts. For consolidation of cPanel accounts, users can take stock of any cPanel accounts that can be merged into a master account.

Some of the users that need limited cPanel access can be converted into an addon domain under a master cPanel account. For existing customers, the pricing changes and additional fees for licenses will take place for hosting plan renewals occurring after January 31, 2020. cPanel servers global hosting community for 21 years. The company has licenses for Partners that host more than 1,780 cPanel Accounts.
