Web hosting provider IONOS launches its own video conferencing service, Video Chat. The service is currently in the beta stage. It allows users to start or join a start a video chat room, no registration or contract is required. The company’s service supports up to 24 users to join a video conference. The solution offers popular video conferencing features such as screen sharing, chat, and muting users.
Video Chat’s rooms are protected with a password and all the data transmitted can be protected with a TLS encryption. Video Chat is also hosted in Germany, thus it is GPR compliant and the user data is protected by European knowledge safety legal guidelines. For the new service, IONOS partnered with VoIP provider STARFACE. The new service is expected to come out of the beta stage in 2021.
