Popular managed web hosting solutions provider, Managed.com has taken down its servers after the company is hit by a ransomware attack. The incident took place on November 16 and the attack impacted Managed.com’s public-facing web hosting systems. As a result, some customers’ web site data became encrypted by the ransomware.

The company shut down its core system in response to the attack and to prevent malware from spreading further. The company also acknowledged that the attack impacted some customer websites and it is still unclear if those websites’ data will be able to be restored in the near future or not. It took more than a month for A2 Hosting to recover the data from ransomware last year in a similar incident. The company also stated that they are working with law enforcement to be able to identify the attackers.
