Parler.com domain transferred to Epik

Parler is a social media platform which is used more frequently by conservative politicians especially after Donald Trump’s ban from Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platform. The platform was also banned from Apple and Google’s app stores and Amazon’s AWS for failing to remove content promoting violence. The company also decided to change its domain registrar.

From DreamHost to Epic

While Parler is seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent Amazon from removing Parler from its servers, the controversial social media platform also transferred the parler.com domain name from DreamHost to Epik, according to Whois records at ICANN. DreamHost also stated that Parler.com was not hosted on DreamHost.

We do not host parler(DOT)com or any of their content on our servers. If you believe that a hosting provider is hosting content which contains or promotes criminal activity, we encourage you to report it to law enforcement directly. FBI’s (IC3): https://t.co/ed85RMyMxs *MC

While Parler.com is still facing downtime, Epik made an announcement about the social media platform, stating,

“On behalf of the domain registrar Epik, this is an official statement that we have had no contract or discussions with Parler in any form regarding our organization becoming their registrar or hosting provider. From our understanding, Parler was working on satisfying the requested terms placed upon them by various elements of their supply chain, and to date, no communication has been received by them for discussions of future service provision. We have received a number of media requests for comment and story inclusions. Many seem intent to rehash prior falsehoods and grossly inaccurate distortions regarding content that we declined to support.”
