WHMCS 7.9 public beta is announced. Usage billing and PayPal checkout features are the highlights of the new release.
Leading web host billing automation platform, WHMCS, launched WHMCS 7.9 public beta. It has new features like Usage Billing and PayPal Checkout and more. With usage billing in WHMCS 7.9, customers can be billed for what they’ve used and consumed. Usage billing makes available setup products that contain variable priced items. Belongs to the invoicing based on usage data provided to WHMCS, these items are calculated by the product’s provisioning module. It uses as resource Disk Space, Bandwidth, Addon Domains, MySQL Databases and more.
PayPal Checkout experience
Another new feature in WHMCS 7.9 is PayPal Checkout, which comes with a new PayPal module that leverages PayPal’s Smart Button technology. It is described as:
“PayPal Checkout with Smart Payment Buttons gives your buyers a simplified and secure checkout experience. PayPal intelligently presents the most relevant payment types to your shoppers, automatically, making it easier for them to complete their purchase using methods like Pay with Venmo, PayPal Credit, credit card payments, iDEAL, Bancontact, Sofort, and other payment types.”
So, it means a new and improved PayPal Checkout experience for end-users featuring Checkout with PayPal. It supports both One Time and Automated Recurring Subscription-based purchases. WHMCS 7.9 public beta has other new features including GoCardless ACH support, SiteLock VPN via MarketConnect that offers a high speed, secure, and easy to use VPN service, Domain Renewal Maximum Term Enforcement, and more.
