The WordPress team announced that they are waiting for users to test for bugs for WordPress 5.6 release candidate 2. The new version of WordPress is slated for release on December 8, since then, users will be able to try the new version on the WordPress Beta Tester plugin or download the release candidate. Users can also check the WordPress 5.6 beta 1 post for a detailed list of changes included in the new version.
Plugins and themes
The WordPress team also asked developers to test their plugins and themes against WordPress 5.6. The developers then will be able to update the “Tested up to” version in the readme file to version 5.6 if there aren’t any compatibility problems. However if there such problems, developers can post them to support forums, thus it can be figured out before the final release.
