Microsoft Edge now supports Linux

Microsoft Edge is now available for all major desktop and mobile platforms. Developers now can build and test in your preferred environment including users. In addition to this, Microsoft also started to accept security researchers’ submissions for the Microsoft Edge Bounty Program.

How to install Microsoft Edge on Linux?

One of the two ways to install Microsoft Edge on Linux is to download and install a .deb or .rpm package directly from the Microsoft Edge Insider site. The other way is to install Microsoft Edge from Microsoft’s Linux Software Repository using distribution’s standard package management tools, by following the “Command line installation” instructions on the Microsoft Edge Insider site (deb/rpm).

With this initial preview release, Microsoft aims to provide a representative experience for developers who want to build and test their sites and apps on Linux. Web platform and developer tools features, including core rendering behaviors, extensions, browser DevTools, and test automation features, should generally behave consistently with other platforms like macOS and Windows.
