Fedora 31 Workstation is coming with the latest version of the GNOME Desktop Environment. GNOME 3.34 includes some updates and new features to offer better productivity for users.
Improved web browsing
Thessaloniki codenamed GNOME 3.34 is a result of 6 months’ hard work of approximately 777 contributors. The new version of GNOME also comes with an improved web browsing experience. Tabs can be pinned to save them across sessions during web browsing. And the ad-blocking feature is updated to use WebKit filters.
Improved Box Workflow
The New Box Assistant allows using separate dialogs being used while adding a remote connection or external broker. And source selection during the creating of a new local virtual machine is not split into Detected Sources, Featured Download, and Select a Source section. Fedora 31 Workstation user can also rescue a broken system or simulate dual-booting environments with GNOME 3.34’s New Box Assistant features.
Background Chooser and Application Folders
Choosing the background image in Fedora Workstation is much easier now. With the new design, users can quickly and easily change the desktop and lock screen backgrounds. And with the Custom Application Folders feature, users can now easily create application folders in the Overview UI. So it’s easier to organize the applications just by dragging an icon on top of another one.
