The world’s largest IPv6-native Internet backbone, Hurricane Electric, announced the deployment of its new Point of Presence in ITENOS‘ FRA 1 data center, which is the ITENOS’ largest with 14,000 square meters and direct access to DE-CIX. The facility is located to serve customers in this global financial center, which is also home to the European Central Bank and the German stock exchange.
150 carriers and service providers
The facility provides connections to more than 150 carriers and service providers, connecting traffic across central Europe. The new PoP is Hurricane Electric’s 6th location in Frankfurt and 12th in Germany. It provides enterprises with improved fault tolerance, load balancing, and congestion management in the delivery of next-generation IP connectivity services.

ITENOS’ customers now have new connectivity options and access to Hurricane Electric’s IPv4 and IPv6 network through 100GE, 10GE, and GigE ports. Customers will also be able to exchange IP traffic with the company’s global network which offers more than 20,000 BGP sessions with over 8,000 different networks via more than 250 major exchange points.
