According to the statement of Mozilla Co-Founder and Chairwoman Mitchell Baker, Mozilla Foundation Board member Bob Lisbonne appointed at the Mozilla Corporation Board. Moreover, Mozilla’s departing CEO Chris Beard announced that he will be stepping down from his role as a Mozilla Corporation board member.

“We are in debt to Chris for his myriad contributions to Mozilla. We’re fortunate to have Bob make this shift at a time when his expertise is so well matched for Mozilla Corporation’s current needs” said Mozilla Chairwoman and Co-Founder Mitchell Baker.
Mozilla which was founded as an open-source project in 1998 has two organizations: Mozilla Foundation which aims to create a global movement for the health of the internet and Mozilla Corporation which develops products, public policy, and new technologies.
He has been a member since 2006
Bob Lisbonne who played an important role during Mozilla’s foundation has been a member of the Mozilla Foundation Board since 2006.
“I’m incredibly fortunate to have been involved with Mozilla for over two decades. Creating awesome products and services that advance the Mozilla mission remains as important as ever. In this new role, I’m eager to contribute my expertise and help advance the Internet as a global public resource, open and accessible to all” said Lisbonne commented on his previous roles and new appointment in the company.

Lisbonne who was the CEO of internet startup Luminate and a General Partner with Matrix Partners has a technology career spanning 25 years with roles like an entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and executive. He worked on the Boards of companies which IPO’ed and were acquired by Cisco, HP, IBM, and Yahoo, and more. He has been teaching at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business since 2014.
At the same time, departing CEO Chris Beard stepped down from his role as a board member from Mozilla Corporation. With this appointment and departure, now the Mozilla Corporation board consists of Mitchell Baker, Karim Lakhani, Julie Hanna, and Bob Lisbonne.
The remaining Mozilla Foundation board members are Mitchell Baker, Brian Behlendorf, Ronaldo Lemos, Helen Turvey, Nicole Wong, and Mohamed Nanabhay. Briefly, the Mozilla Foundation Board will try to fill the vacancy of Bob Lisbonne and Mozilla Corporation will try to expand its image and works.
