What is CyrusOne?

CyrusOne is a high-growth real estate investment trust (REIT) specializing in reliable enterprise-class, carrier-neutral data center properties. CyrusOne that was founded in 2001 is the third-largest data center provider in the U.S. In the past 19 years, CyrusOne’s portfolio reached more than 40 enterprise-class facilities across three continents, and more than 4 million square feet of total net rentable square footage (NRSF). Now, the company offers cloud, connectivity, and data center solutions.

The colocation provider has introduced industry firsts such as the CyrusOne National Internet Exchange (IX) interconnection platform, Massively Modular data-center engineering and an online purchasing interface known as Data Center Marketplace. In 2012 CyrusOne breaks ground on a 57-acre data center campus in Phoenix, the largest of its kind at nearly 1 million square feet. The next year, The Phoenix data center begins operating and the company introduced the CyrusOne Marketplace, a self-service data center selection tool, while reaching a milestone of 1 million square feet of available space. At the end of the same year, CyrusOne begins its third expansion project in Houston, creating the largest geophysical center for seismic exploration computing in the U.S. CyrusOne began trading on the NASDAQ Exchange under the symbol CONE till 2013.

CyrusOne received a multisite data center certification from the Open-IX Association. While expanding in Northern Virginia, the acquisition of the Cervalis adds four CyrusOne data center facilities in the New York metropolitan area. CyrusOne has direct connectivity to Google Cloud Platform since 2015 and Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute connectivity and AWS Direct Connect become available across all CyrusOne data centers since 2016.

Recently, this global data center real estate investment trust (REIT) announced the use of the latest International Computer Concepts (ICC) and Asetek technologies for cooling design solutions across campuses.
