Ingram Micro was founded in 1979 as a distributor Micro D. The company was founded by Geza Czige and Lorraine Mecca, who were married and both teachers. In its first year of business, the company achieved approximately $3.5 million in sales. In 1986, Ingram Industries acquired all of the common stock held by the founders. 3 years later purchased the remaining shares. In 1996, Ingram Micro became a public company by listing its shares on the New York Stock Exchange.

Ingram Micro currently has local sales offices and representatives in 64 countries with its 189 logistics centers and service centers globally. The company is representing 2,000 suppliers and serving more than 250,000 customers in nearly 160 different countries.

Ingram Micro Cloud is a cloud solution and services marketplace operator. Additionally, the company is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Consulting Partner and AWS Distributor. With a network of about 1000 AWS Partners, Ingram Micro Cloud delivers cloud solutions that accelerate the growth of both commercial and public sector partners.
