What is Linode?

Linode, headquartered in Pennsylvania, is a cloud hosting company providing virtual private servers. The company’s name is a combination of the words Linux and node. The company deployed its infrastructure-as-a-service across 11 global markets from the company’s data centers around the globe. It is also supported by its Next Generation Network, advanced APIs, comprehensive services, and a vast library of educational resources.

Linode was founded in 2003 by Christopher Aker, who is a Full Sait University graduate. A few months later, the company opened its first data centers in Fremont, California, and Dallas. The company also opened data centers in Atlanta, New Jersey, London, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Singapore, Toronto, Mumbai, and Sydney between 2007 and 2019. Aker also acquired the historic Corn Exchange Bank building in 2015 and after the renovation, it has become the company’s headquarters in 2018.

The independent open cloud provider is mostly known for its cloud hosting offerings. The company claims that its mission is to accelerate innovation by making cloud computing simple, affordable, and accessible to all since the day it began. Linode also provides professional support 24x7x365.
