Mellanox Technologies is a supplier of end-to-end Ethernet and InfiniBand intelligent interconnect solutions and services for servers, storage, and hyper-converged infrastructure. Eyal Waldman  founded the company in 1999 by along with an experienced team of Engineers in Yokneam, Israel. Mellanox offers a choice of high performance solutions including network and multicore processors, network adapters, switches, cables, software and silicon. solutions for data centers and interconnect solutions for Enterprise Data Centers, Web 2.0, Cloud Computing, High-Performance Computing, and embedded environments. In addition to this, Mellanox Comprehensive suite of software products provides an innovation application centric approach to bridge the gap between servers, application and fabric elements.

Mellanox received first round funding of $7.6M from Sequoia Capital and US Venture Partners. In 2001, Mellanox shipped InfiniBridge 10Gb/s InfiniBand devices to customers for revenues, marking the industry’s first commercially available InfiniBand semiconductors supporting both 1X and 4X switches and channel adapters. As a milestone, Mellanox crosses the 200K ports sales and launched InfiniHost III Ex InfiniBand Host Channel Adapter, and the 3rd generation 144 port InfiniBand switch platform in 2004. Mellanox announced the Initial Public Offering on the NASDAQ in the US traded under the symbol “MLNX”. Later, the company would be listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE), and would surpass the 2 million InfiniBand port milestone.

Mellanox’s acquisition and investment strategy focuses on key technologies, applications and innovations. In April 2020, NVIDIA has acquired Mellanox Technologies for a transaction value of $7 billion.
