What is Oracle?
In 1977 Oracle was started its journey. Engineers Larry Ellison, Bob Miner and Ed Oates found Software Laboratoires in California. 5 years later, the company changes its name to Oracle Corporation. In ten 10 years, Oracle became world’s largest database company with 100 million dollars in sales and 4,500 end users in 55 countries. Oracle has been a traded company since 1986.
Oracle offers infrastructure solutions including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and software solutions. Oracle’s software solutions consist of Oracle Database, Java and MySQL. In addition to this, the company provides Exadata which is designed to run Oracle Database as hardware solution. At the side of Oracle Applications, Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications help this 100-year-old nonprofit hire dedicated aid workers and track real-time financial data.
The Oracle and Microsoft alliance announced in June 2019 enables customers to deploy mission-critical enterprise workloads that span their respective Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud environments. The company also helps companies digital transformation with Oracle Industry Solutions. The company differs from its industrial based solutions. Oracle serves a wide range of sectors including automative, education and research, financial services, hospitaly and more. For instance, Oracle Health Sciences Data Management Workbench and Oracle Health Sciences Inform are significant differentiators in clinical data management.
At the same time, Oracle focuses on 5G charging and containerizaton in latest Billing and Revenue Management (BRM) release. In the October 2019 release of BRM, Oracle debuted cloud-natve capabilites, including introducing a microservices architecture and 20 containerized images using Docker.
