Red Hat launched Red Hat Enterprise Linux in 2002. The open source software solutions company opened its Open Innovation Labs in Singapore in 2017. Red Hat support has been awarded and thanks to its training and consulting services Red Hat became a trusted adviser to the Fortune 500.

The company positioned itself as a strategic partner to cloud providers, system integrators, application vendors, customers, and open source communities. Its operating system Red Hat Enterprise Linux covers hybrid cloud infrastructure, middleware, agile integration, cloud-native application development, and management and automation solutions. In July 2019, IBM acquired Red Hat for $190.00 per share in cash, representing a total equity value of approximately $34 billion. It is estimated that Red Hat Enterprise Linux alone is contribute to more than $10 trillion worth of global business revenues in 2019. An additional 640,000 people are expected to work in Red Hat-related jobs in 2023.
