SiteLock is an Arizona-headquartered web security company with offices in Florida and the Netherlands. The company aims to make cybersecurity and website security services affordable and accessible, especially for small businesses. Currently, the company protects more than 12 million sites worldwide. SiteLock offers services like vulnerability scanners and web application firewalls to protect websites.
SiteLock was founded by Neill Feather, Tomas Gorny, and Tracy Conrad in 2008. Gorny and Conrad were also co-founders of iPower, a domain hosting company. In 2007, iPower was merged with Endurance International Group, which owns multiple hosting brands, such as HostGator and Bluehost.
Gorny and Conrad also established two other tech companies, Nextiva and UnitedWeb. Until April of 2018, SiteLock and Nextiva were both brands of UnitedWeb. Then SiteLock was acquired by a private equity firm, ABRY Partners. Gorny is still the CEO of Nextiva and UnitedWeb.
In 2017, SiteLock announced the acquisition of Patchman, a startup from the Netherlands, launched in 2014 that offers website vulnerability patching software for hosting providers. After the acquisition, in 2018, the company took place on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in America for the second consecutive year. The company is also ranked Arizona’s fastest-growing software company on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 for three years in a row.
In 2018 SiteLock had 251 employees and announced an annual revenue range of $42.9 million. In February of 2019, the company announced that Co-Founder Neill Feather’s transition into the role of Chief Innovation Officer and Tom Heiser, former CEO of ClickSoftware, had been appointed chairman and CEO of the company.
