Sucuri is a Delaware-based company that focuses on cloud-based technology and services for website security and performance. The company is mostly known for its website security platform that shares the same name with the company. The platform includes a suite of security tools and services, including WAF protection, monitoring, incident response, and performance boost. Today, the company has more than 125 professionals in more than 25 countries.
Sucuri was established by Daniel B. Cid as an American company in 2010. The following year, Dre Armeda and Tony Perez joined the company as co-founders. Sucuri was acquired by web hosting giant GoDaddy in 2017, but still operating as a separate brand.
The word “Sucuri” means “anaconda” in Brazilian Portuguese. It is known for being a big and dangerous animal. “Sucuri” was also the name of a Brazilian tank destroyer in the 1980s. Daniel’s father is a General in the Brazilian Army, specializing in tanks and artillery warfare.
