WhatsApp published its new privacy policy last week. As part of the Facebook Companies, WhatsApp was forcing its users outside of the EU to agree to share their information with Facebook starting early February 2021 with its new privacy policy. After this announcement, a discussion about WhatsApp users’ concerns about their privacy has been started.
Giving more time for their recent update
Its two billion users have to accept its updated terms and conditions or stop using the service. The popular online messaging app WhatsApp published a new statement for giving more time for their recent update.
The company talked about the new privacy policy, saying,
“There’s been a lot of misinformation causing concern and we want to help everyone understand our principles and the facts. We’ll then go to people gradually to review the policy at their own pace before new business options are available on May 15.”
Also, WhatsApp underlined on its blog that WhatsApp can not see your messages or hear your calls and neither can Facebook.
WhatsApp is automatically collecting information including usage and log information, device and connection information, location, and cookies.
