AV-Comparatives has released the results of its 2020 Enterprise Advanced Threat Protection Test. All the tested products had to defend against 15 different complex targeted attacks. The Advanced Threat Protection Test checks each security product’s ability to protect a computer against targeted attacks called advanced persistent threats.
7 security companies passed the test
AV-Comparatives’ Advanced Threat Protection Test uses a variety of different attack scenarios, which the tested programs have to defend against. “Advanced persistent threat” could be stealing, substituting, damaging confidential information, or establishing sabotage capabilities.
Avast Business Antivirus Plus, Bitdefender Gravity Zone Elite Security, CrowdStrike Falcon Pro, ESET PROTECT Entry, Fortinet FortiClient with FortiSandbox and FortiEDR, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Select, SparkCognition DeepArmor Endpoint Protection Platform and Vipre Endpoint Security Cloud have passed the test.
“Cybercriminals are getting better and better. They come up with new attacks every day. Fileless attacks, code obfuscation, and the misuse of legitimate operating-system tools are on the rise,” according to the co-founder of AV-Comparatives, Peter Stelzhammer.
