US President Joe Biden has extended the state of national emergency, which was declared on April 1, 2015, by former President Barack Obama through Executive Order 13694. The executive order also sanctioned the individuals coordinating or contributing to cyberattacks against the US. Biden stated that the emergency was extended to deal with increasing severe cyber threats targeting the country.
Organizations warned
Recently, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency urged all US organizations to improve their defenses and to take measures to defend their infrastructure. CISA and the FBI are warning organizations that attack targetting Ukraine can spread to other countries.

After the invasion of Ukraine, the tension between the US and Russia is increasing, which also the risk of another cyberwar. The executive order includes critical infrastructure breaches, denial of service attacks, and data theft incidents that can be considered a threat to national security, foreign policy, economic health, or financial stability. Joe Biden, President of the US said,
« Significant malicious cyber-enabled activities originating from, or directed by persons located, in whole or in substantial part, outside the United States continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States. Therefore, I have determined that it is necessary to continue the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13694 with respect to significant malicious cyber-enabled activities. »
