Developer-first cloud-native application security provider Snyk has signed an agreement to acquire the provider of real-time semantic code analysis powered by AI, DeepCode. The acquisition of DeepCode comes on the heels of Snyk’s announcement of a $200 million Series D investment and valuation of $2.6 billion. DeepCode announced that combining resources with Snyk will help both developers and security teams to further reduce risk and become more productive.

Snyk also announced that DeepCode’s technology to the Snyk Cloud Native Application Security platform. By leveraging Snyk’s security expertise and comprehensive vulnerability database to train DeepCode’s AI engine, the company will improve its accuracy even faster and can reduce false positives. Peter McKay, CEO of Snyk said,

Additionally, we now can apply those capabilities to the proprietary code written by developers, extending the Snyk platform’s coverage for securing cloud native applications.”
