Veritas Technologies announced the acquisition of HubStor, which offers a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for backing up data stored in cloud services. With the acquisition, HubStor will allow Veritas to sell its services which has a large enterprise sales team in place. The company decided not to disclose the terms of the deal.
Portfolio of data protection tools
HubStor’s services will be offered alongside Veritas’ existing portfolio of data protection tools. With the rise of ransomware attacks, IT organizations are more cognizant of the need to protect that data. The most effective way to be prepared against ransomware attacks is to storing the unencrypted copy of the data stored in the cloud service, readily available on another platform that has not been comprised.
Founded by Geoff Bourgeois and Greg Campbell in 2015, HubStor is privately held and headquartered in Kanata, Ontario, Canada. HubStor’s co-founders have a working history of 20+ years building enterprise software solutions together.
