Reboot has used a combination of search engine tools to scrape monthly search volume data for over 160 countries, exploring how many times “Fortnite” is searched versus “Minecraft” in order to determine which game has captured the nation’s interest more.

Which is more popular globally?

No one can argue with the global fondness for Fortnite and Minecraft, both games garner over 42 million monthly searches around the world when combined! The analysis of Google search data in 168 countries can reveal each nation’s preferred game. While it may be a close call, the popularity of Fortnite has taken over that of Minecraft. Reboot reveals that Fortnite is the most commonly searched game of the two in 52% of countries worldwide.

However, Minecraft still has momentum in the far east, where it is the most searched for the games in many Asian countries. Overall, Minecraft is the more popular game in 34% of countries. However, there were a few neutral nations, as 14% of the world can’t pick between the two- with the same number of monthly searches for each game.
