It’s not a secret that Valve was working on a new Steam Library interface, which was available to beta testers recently. Now, everyone can try the new UI. New UI includes three new rows, What’s New, Recent Games, and Collections View.
Steam’s new interface shows games in a grid system
The new interface allows to user to see the recently updated games, the games that are played recently in a grid system. Users can now create their own collections with the desired tags. Collections are also dynamic. For example, if you create a collection with a “strategy” tag, the new games will be added to the relevant collection automatically.
Thus it will be easier and faster to navigate between the categories and the games, instead of trying to find the game’s name from a long list. It is also possible to switch between the library home page and the collections page with a single click. Users can still find the games in their Library by typing the title to the search bar on the left frame.
Users can also use the filtering options. There is also a new button to show only playable games at the moment. So uninstalled games or the games that are waiting for an update won’t be shown on the list. It safe to say the new UI brings some nice features and definitely looks nicer and more modern. We will have to wait to see if Valve is planning on any similar UI changes in the near future.
