Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) is a managed container orchestration service. It is based on the open-source Kubernetes system, which is available on the Microsoft Azure public cloud. The organizations can use AKS to deploy, scale, and manage Docker containers and container-based applications across a cluster of container hosts.
Easy integration with development tools
Windows Server containers enable customers to «lift and shift» Windows applications to run on managed Kubernetes service with Azure. AKS also simplifies the deployment and management of Kubernetes clusters and provides a highly reliable environment for the applications. It also provides high availability and security.
AKS can be integrated with the most used development tools such as GitHub and Visual Studio Code, which helps the developers and system administrators to work together easily. For example, users can create, upgrade, and scale Windows node pools in AKS through the standard tools. AKS also helps to manage the health of the cluster automatically.
Microsoft also announced the availability of both private clusters and managed identities support in AKS, which ensure isolation to a private network.
